About this deal

The Making of an Addict will show Shinny at his most vulnerable as he shares deeply personal aspects of his life. The film will hone in on the realities of addiction to recreate moments of desperation and paranoia.

Feeling suicidal, or bereaved by suicide is a very difficult place to be. It can be very emotional, distressing and traumatic. We want to support you if you are bereaved by suicide or concerned that someone you know may be thinking of suicide. We want to help you find what support is available in the boroughs of Greater Manchester and provide national resources that are available to help. After all, people may look fine on the surface – which is how they present themselves online – but that doesn’t mean they aren’t suffering underneath. I want this film to help others face their demons and overcome their disease of addiction. It’s an illness that affects hundreds-of-thousands of people in the country.Making of an Addict promises to be an interesting and important film. Certainly one to look forward to... To deal with it I count my blessings, think of my family,” he said. “I feel grateful for what I’ve got – think of my kids. Then I make a coffee and I’m ready to take on the day.” In 2016, the race for Christmas Number 1 remains as unpredictable as it’s ever been. Here’s why: The X Factor’s grip on the race has loosened

His first feature film, Best Laid Plans, starred Maxine Peake and Stephen Graham. His latest film, Strangeways Here We Come, starred Michelle Keegan in her first film role as well as Bafta winners Lauren Socha and Chanel Cresswell. He wants to bring more ‘real life’ to social media, in an age when so many people present a false image of themselves and seek instant gratification. Sponsored by S&P Casuals and Iron Fist, his music is being used as part of the advertising campaign for clothing brand Soul Star, and he is also modelling their autumn/winter range. However, there was also a poignant aspect of the material, as he openly talked about his sobriety and recovery from substance abuse.

I’ve got a four-year plan,” he said. “This keeps me on the right path and I’m only getting better and better in training.

The 29-year-old from Pendleton hardly broke sweat as he saw off tough Welshman Mark Phillips 40-35 on points and said he felt like he had not even had a fight. Salford lad James Davenport – also known as Shinny – is a local star who speaks his mind. And not just because it’s World Mental Health Day, either. I’m a thinking man’s fighter now. I’ve always said – when it came to rugby, I could run with the ball and score a try, but I didn’t know the game. Fans of Manchester band Inspiral Carpets have launched a campaign to get the band to the top this Christmas in honour of the band’s late drummer Craig Gill, who died on November 22 at the age of 44. The group enjoyed success in the '90s with hits such including Draggin My Down and This Is How It Feels, but it's their 1994 song Saturn 5 that's the focus of the #XmasNo1 Facebook campaign, which has been set up by Gill’s childhood friend, Rob McCoy. We'd like to congratulate James SHINNy Davenport on winning the Salford Star 'Star' Award and wish him every success in the future.SHINNy represented Leeds Rhinos and his hometown club Salford Reds. After a career in rugby, he became a professional boxer. In his final bout, SHINNy boxed at the MEN Arena on the undercard of the legendary Joe Calzaghe vs. Jeff Lacy bout. The former professional boxer has turned his hand to songwriting and singing, as well as hosting the twice daily Shinny Show Live on social media, where he speaks openly about his own life and struggles, including addiction and anxiety. Another song making a surprising last minute bid for the Christmas Number 1. The One Direction singer's first solo offering might not be particularly festive, but it's certainly uplifting - especially after performing it on The X Factor final as a tribute to his late mother. A singer-songwriter from Salford is making a bid to be Christmas number one after beating drink and drug addiction. Davenport’s final wake-up call came when he feared he would never see eight-year-old Donovan or two-year-old Gracie Lee again.
