Without going into a LOT of detail I can't really explain my qualms here, I just think the solo game really doesn't flow well, and leaves a lot to be assumed. Everyone has their own opinions of course, but I think Firefly plays great how it is, especially when you throw in the expansions. That whole damn ‘verse is depicted on a new neoprene mat, with custom ship dice also among the upgrades.Around this time, the studio began a collaboration with Firaxis Games that produced CivCity: Rome, a game that received poor reviews and was the last Firefly game published by Take-Two Interactive. Players get to captain one of four Firefly-class ships (including Serenity) and then you build your crew by burning through the ‘Verse and hiring them on at one of five different locations: Persephone, Regina, Silverhold, Osiris, and the Space Bazaar at Red Sun.

It is far from feeling like a fiddly game most of the time, but there are a lot of things that go into both the set-up and the gameplay. The game can be played with several different objectives - ours was simply to be the first to reach a particular amount of money ('"Respectable" Persons of Business'). There are six different story cards you can play through and you have to complete the goals on your story card to win the game. Firefly Adventures: Brigands and Browncoats contains everything you need to play, 20 unique miniatures, equipment cards, hero cards, goon cards, skill test cards, map tiles, 3D building terrain and dice. I think it's great that there is so much to the game that you need a big table just to play it, but setting up can be quite a challenge, plus finding space for your personal ship and crew cards, money, upgrades, etc.

Massive box includes everything ever made for the game, plus a new expansion and upgraded components. Firefly Misbehavin’ is a game for 2-4 players set in the Firefly ‘Verse where each player will take on the role of a faction.

Most of these tell you to "Keep Flyin'", some impose hazards, breakdowns and salvage opportunities but the worst drop you into the lap of the Alliance or put you in the way of the cannibal Reavers.You get to worry about fuel and parts and gear and stashes for your contraband and fugitives and YAY IT HAS EVERYTHING FROM THE SHOW. I think people who either haven’t seen or just don’t like Firefly aren’t going to be as excited about this game as Browncoats will be. It's a bit blunt but simple and plenty of special Crew and Gear cards introduce variations on the mechanic.
